Peter Strudel builds in this composition in a painting by Anthony van Dyck on which is detectable in the imperial collections since 1720 (now Vienna, Kunsthistorisches Museum, Picture Gallery, inv 486). Compared to this image that already Johann Michael Rottmayr had served as a model, ordered strudel his composure, however, to mirror image.
